Hello all,
I had a great day today, first off I got up at 4:30 (am) and I went all the way to the gold coast. When we got there we had to find the sports super centre. We finally arrived to see runners EVERYWHERE! There was people running here and there then back again! we walked found the tables where they were giving out the race kits. In it was a free chicken seared snack wrap voucher from Maccas, a race number (my first one) and a special timing chip. After that we thought it would be a good idea to go to the toilets before the race. When we came out everyone was gone! we then heard over a loud-speaker race starting in 5 minutes. We thought, “Oh No! The race is going to start and the start line must be ages away.” But we soon figured out it was just around the corner, phew! a quick jog there to warm up then a few stretches.
I was running, and running, and running! Finally I got to the drink stop, but after a 5 second drink I was off again. I finally came to the 4 km mark and thought, “This has been pretty easy,” and stepped up the pace a bit. Soon I started passing heaps of people. (not just the kids!) When I got into the stadium I sprinted all the way to the finish. After I passed the finish line I looked at the timer and it read, 25:54. I think that was a pretty good time! I got a drink and sat down. After that I soon saw my brother come into the stadium and cheered him on. After about five minutes I went over to my little brother and sister who were getting ready to start the race.
Zali, my little sister, shot off like a rocket and kept a very good pace through the whole race. Neo though was a different story, he kept winging and saying to my stepfather, “Please carry me Daddy.” After about 5 minutes he finally reached the end of the track (500m). I then went to watch my little sister (who is always saying, “I’m the fastest kid in my grade, I teach everyone how to run”) run. It turns out she came 27 out of 38. After all this hard work it was time for a treat, WET ‘N’ WILD!!
We entered the car park with much excitement. We have VIP passes so we got a special que that had basically no line up! It was awesome, the mach 5 is my favourite ride! The food is sooo expensive. Unfortunately something came out of my parents account so we had no money to buy food and had to leave early. Apart from that I had an awesome time and loved it!
